Cheryl Dunn Filmmaker / Photographer IG
Lives in New York.
The documentary film "Everybody Street (Photographers in New York)," released in 2013, documents the lifestyles and feelings of New York's greatest street photographers, their thoughts on street photography, and their ideas.
Released in 2021, this documentary film captures the graffiti artist Dash Snow, known for his "Moments Like This Never Last" work. This documentary footage of him, who passed away at a young age, is an invaluable work. Her photographs continue to capture street characters, including various artists, skaters, boxers, and demonstrators, including Mark Gonzales, Barry McGee, and ESPO. Her works, capturing beautiful yet fleeting dramas in places that are also a collection of chaos, continue to symbolize the times. Through her current interview, we hope to offer content that will allow viewers to reconsider what New York street culture and living in New York mean.
Luke Malaney Furnitureworker / Professional Skateboarder IG
Lives in New York.
Luke is a woodworker and professional skater for Traffic skateboards. His furniture, chairs, and lighting are made from materials such as wood and copper, blending a sense of distortion and cuteness, creating pieces that are closer to art objects than furniture. What is the inspiration behind these unique designs, both as interior décor and artwork?
He has been featured in various media outlets, including The New York Times, Wallpaper, AD, and HYPEBEAST, and in this issue we will introduce him in his shared studio, talking about skateboarding, furniture, and the work he enjoys creating by hand from start to finish using hand tools, as well as his philosophy, work, and creations.
"It's a joy to be able to create something that you really want to create and create your own story. I think it's like landing a skateboarding stair. It takes skill to overcome your fear, and the sense of accomplishment and fulfillment when you finally land it is the best." (From an interview in this magazine)
