Set apart Tee Design by R&M Corp

In 2018, we asked Nathaniel Matthews, aka R&M Corp, to design a BACKDOOR SHOP T-shirt. After several years of intricate work, the T-shirt is finally here. The back features large print of the shop information. This was inspired by the shop T-shirts of souvenir shops in downtown New York. A photo of Boston City Hall, a prime example of Brutalist architecture, is also included. The front design was inspired by matchboxes from the designer's collection. The word "Set apart" is used as an accent, evoking the shop's semi-underground location and isolation. The body is made from the American Apparel 1301, the successor model to Alstyle.

A design label by Nathaniel Matthews, an OG member of 8ball, who has made a major contribution to the revival of NYC zine culture since 2010. He has provided designs for STRAY RATS and Smith Street Tattoo Parlour.
